This booklet began as an address to clergy and laity in Hampshire, at a meeting in St Francis' Church, Bournemouth. It is an attempt to understand where Catholics in the Church of England stand at present, and why thay are in this situation. Then it seeks to respond to the offer of the Holy Father in the Apostolic Constitution 'Anglicanorum Coetibus'. It is a personal response and cannot represent the view of the Church Union as a whole. Rather it is offered as a contribution to an ongoing discussion which, I pray, will lead many of us to respond as a body to the Holy Father. His understanding of us, and his generosity towards us, are unparalleled.
